Beatport‘s first dance/electronic industry summit is coming to New York this fall.
The company’s inaugural ReConnect Summit will be held in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at 74 Wythe from September 21 – 22, 2022, with programming to include talks from industry leaders, interactive experiences, and networking opportunities orbiting dance/electronic music and culture, technology, and Web3. The summit will also feature a select number of performances, to be announced in the time leading up to the conference.
The ReConnect Summit is an in-person extension of the ReConnect brand’s purpose: restoring and fostering connection and collaboration within the dance/electronic music community. “ReConnect was born out of the pandemic as an effort to help keep our community thriving, and now that we’re starting to gather again, we thought that bringing together executives, artists and fans of dance music and DJ culture would be a powerful way to reconnect,” said Beatport Group CEO Robb McDaniels.
The summit fills a gap in the United States dance/electronic conference landscape; although Amsterdam Dance Event and IMS Ibiza are cornerstones of the global industry summit calendar, at present, there are no national-level equivalents. The closest comparator was IMS Engage, IMS’ US edition, anchored in Los Angeles. However, IMS Engage has not returned since it was last hosted in 2016. As such, Beatport’s ReConnect Summit offers a valuable opportunity for national-scale education and networking in a market that has not seen such programming for six years.
Those interested in attending the conference can sign up for pre-sale ticket access here. Tickets will be available for purchase later this month.
