After headbangers everywhere spent two weeks agonizing over Excision‘s mysterious countdown, the Canadian dubstep icon officially revealed his new label, Subsidia Records.
Excision has consistently been one step ahead of the industry throughout his career and this streak continues with the launch of his label, which will formally get off the ground on September 28 with 118 new songs, prompting Excision to break yet another norm. Four new mixes, which will all feature their own distinctive sound while maintaining Excision’s top-tier rank will also be released, as well as his Lost Lands: Couch Lands 3 virtual set.
The songs will disperse across three compilations, Night Vol. 1, Dusk: Vol. 1, and Dawn: Vol. 1, which will feature heavy bass tracks, the tastefully egregious sounds of experimental bass, and the more melodic, emotional side of bass music, respectively. Excision told fans on Twitter,
“I’ve always supported diversity and creativity in as many ways as possible, and a new label felt like the best way to do that.”
Beyond diversity and inclusivity, one of his goals in creating this new brand is to afford fans an escape from the wild reality of 2020, and a chance to completely immerse themselves in a new world, one marked by a shared love of bass music.
