Habitatt makes three-sided grand entrance on Purified Records with ‘See’

Dance music has a new collaborative duo. And that pair goes by the name of Habitatt. Formed by longtime friends Max Styler and Spencer Howard—whose name may seem familiar considering his day job is being an MLB pitcher—Habitatt have officially joined Nora En Pure’s Purified Records for the project’s inaugural EP, See.

Styler and Howard actually grew up together as they entered the world of music production. Although their career choices fell under entirely different umbrellas, their friendship and shared passion for dance music remained intact. After constantly sending demos back and forth with each other while Styler toured the world as a DJ and Howard traveled to countless MLB ballparks, they made things official and formed Habitatt. And Purified Records couldn’t have been a more fitting home, with Styler taking an opportunity to pivot away from tech house and into the world of melodic house alongside the help of Howard in the form of a tranquil three-sided release.

The EP release also has an environmental focus, with its artwork featuring a sea turtle image from Daniel Nicholson and brings attention to the issue of habitat destruction and plastic pollution.
