Ibiza introduces new restrictions as COVID-19 cases rise – Mix Session

As the COVID-19 Delta variant circulates internationally, Ibiza has seen an uptick in COVID-19 cases, with 734 new cases identified in the Balearic Islands on July 5. 256 and 331 new cases were reported on July 6 and July 7, respectively, prompting Ibiza to introduce new restrictions to stymie the spread.

As part of the restrictions, a limit of six people per group will be set for indoor seating and a maximum of 10 individuals will be permitted to sit together outdoors. Venues will also be required to close by 2:00 a.m. local time and alcohol will not be sold between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Tourists from the United Kingdom will need to show proof of either a recent negative COVID-19 test result or full vaccination in order to enter the Balearic Islands.

Nevertheless, Ibiza’s clubs are currently in the preparatory stages of their respective returns, with Amnesia Ibiza announcing its annual closing party for October and Space Ibiza eyeing 2022 for its grand re-opening. Ibiza opened back up to tourists in June, requiring tourists to show proof of vaccination in order to gain entry.
