JAY-Z runs more than just this town…the man runs the world. After the most recent Grammy nominations were revealed for the 2022 ceremony, HOVA is now the most nominated artist in Grammy history. The rapper, producer, activist, and businessman extraordinaire received three more nominations for his collaborations with Kanye West and the late, great DMX bringing his lifetime total to 83 nominations, including 23 wins, over the unassailable career for the Brooklyn native. It truly wouldn’t be the Grammys without the multi-hyphenate creative force, as he’s been nominated 18 of the last 22 editions since his first nomination in 1999. The nominations are also the cherry on top of a year that already saw him inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
JAY-Z sits atop a Grammy nomination list that includes music royalty like Paul McCartney in second with 81 nods (including two more attained this year), JAY’s wife Beyoncé in third, and Stevie Wonder and classical conductor Georg Solti tied for fourth with 74 nominations each.
The 2022 GRAMMYs ceremony will take place on January 31, 2022 in Los Angeles.
