After a year that saw her continuously defend her placement in Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists To Watch in 2022, LP Giobbi is now continuing to reach new heights as a celebrated DJ, producer, pianist, and activist. And the piano house queen is now adding a full-length LP to her list of career achievements—which also includes a full remix album for Jerry Garcia after being a lifelong Deadhead—with the announcement of Light Places, which will will pay homage to Giobbi’s early beginnings as a classically trained musician, blending her improvised jazz and jam band days with her house music sensibilities.
As far as highly anticipated debut album’s go, Giobbi’s hits the top of the list and she paired the Light Places—due on May 12 and actually named after a Grateful Dead lyric—with the newest piece of its 13-part tracklist, “Can’t Let You Go” with Little Jet. The track is a funk-infused dance anthem with smooth vocals from indie-pop duo—and also Giobbi’s “favorite new band”—Little Jet, coming as a Polo & Pan-inspired cut that’s centered around a “song to be consumed during a pool time hang with [her friends].” Stream it below and see her full Light Places announcement.
