From Ytram to a GRX release in 2020, Martin Garrix has not shied from tampering with different directions of late. In a recent interview amid ADE, Garrix revealed that he and fellow collaborator, Maejor, have officially set a date for their debut AREA 21 album, which is currently scheduled to land in March 2021.
The two made their hip-hop and electronic convergence in 2016, and have debuted just six tracks since their inception. “Help,” which arrived at the top of 2019, is the collaborative project’s most recent release, but AREA21’s following has been waiting years for a more extensive output, and this album comes as a very pleasant surprise to long-time fans of the duo. Garrix was quoted saying,
“I can give one hint, we’re doing it in March, and…cartoon. That’s all I can say.”
Garrix also revealed that this body of work will revolve more around non-electronic instrumentation, such as drums and guitar, calling for a riveting change of pace that is sure to leave fans on the edge of their seats. Check out the full interview below.
