Rossy‘s biggest project to date is finally here. Her freshman EP HEAVENS DOOR is nothing less than a towering triumph across trap and bass, and it finds a fitting home on Insomniac‘s HARD Recs. And on release day, HEAVENS DOOR sees its tracklist become complete with a trio of previously uncovered tracks that join the EP’s initial previews, “KARMA” with Jazz Cartier, “DIETY,” and “DON’T SAY.”
HEAVENS DOOR is sheer reaffirmation as to why Rossy spent 2022 under the Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch banner. And while 2022 has come and gone, the sentiment still holds true: Rossy is a name that’s here to stay. The EP flexes everything listeners have come to know and love about the Kansas-bred trap queen, deeply enriched with emotive peaks and valleys, with feelings spurred on by a unique blend of gritty, energy-doused trap and bass as well as euphoric crescendos over the span of EP. Joining HEAVENS DOOR‘s flurry of previews include “Anthem”—Rossy’s set-opening ID—”Lyra,” and last but not least, the EP’s eponymous track alongside a fellow Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 and more importantly her best friend, Pauline Herr.
Rossy’s musical timeline dates as early back as 2018 and HEAVENS DOOR represents her most expansive body of work yet. She’s gotten to this point behind a calculated, methodical ascent that includes milestones reached from early releases like “it is you” and “Always,” the first time that she and Pauline Herr had sonically linked. And these singles played their part in putting Rossy on the map in the early stages of her career, with her continuing to climb the ranks by aligning herself with some of the most prestigious labels in the dance music game like Sable Valley, Deadbeats, Welcome Records, and Lowly. Now, for her first-ever EP, she makes a welcome connection with HARD Recs less than a year after taking the stage at HARD Summer for the first time.
Her debut EP lengthens a recent trend of debuts for Rossy, following her debut headline show in Los Angeles, which will lead into her rapidly approaching debut headline tour alongside Brownies & Lemonade that kicks off in April. Step through HEAVENS DOOR and listen to Rossy’s likely first EP of many below.
