“Fuck it, why wait?,” reads an official statement from Run The Jewels.
Just ahead of its scheduled run, Killer Mike and El-P have shared their highly anticipated RTJ 4. The album lands with impeccable timing as national protests continue to reach a fever pitch.
“The world is infested with bullshit so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all. We hope it brings you some joy. Stay safe and hopeful out there and thank you for giving [two] friends the chance to be heard and do what they love, ” the statement continues.
RTJ 4, the follow-up to 2016’s RTJ 3, includes contributions from Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha, Pharrell Williams, who recently guested alongside deadmau5 on “Pomegranate,” Mavis Staples, 2 Chainz, DJ Premier, and more. The album clocks in at 11 total cuts and is available as a free download on Run The Jewels’ website.
In light of ongoing nationwide protests this week, the duo is spotlighting organizations fighting for equality racial justice. Run The Jewels are imploring fans to rise up, spread awareness, and donate, specifically pointing attention to the Bail Project, Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Legal Defense Initiative, the National Lawyers Guild and Fair Fight.
