Skrillex‘s all-but-confirmed double album is en route and its rollout is continuing. After delivering arguably the year’s single most-requested ID in “Rumble“—alongside Fred again.. and Flowdan—and then immediately following it up with “Way Back“—featuring both PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd—QFF/DGTC is going back to the iconic Boiler Room set from Dancing Astronaut‘s 2022 Artist of the Year. When Fred again.. took over that room in London back in August of 2022, there were—of course—a slew of IDs that tagged along, most of which found themselves on the Actual Life 3 tracklisting. But aside from “Rumble”—and “Path 5,” which is one of Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated IDs of 2023—was what was then known as “Stay With Me,” a confirmed solo showing from the OWSLA boss.
Now officially titled “Leave Me Like This,” Skrillex has turned it into the track that completes a single trifecta thus far from his double album, adding in Bobby Raps who we now know to be the name behind the backing vocals. Many may remember it as the Boiler Room ID that was playing when the notorious—albeit accidental—pause happened at the halfway point, and it takes Skrillex directly back to his four-on-the-floor ways for the first time—on a lead single at least—since “Butterflies” with Four Tet and Starrah almost two years prior, expectedly pulling back another layer of Skrillex’s unequaled craft and somehow continuing to skyrocket any and all album anticipation.
