For those who trail Skrillex‘s social media movements, you’d be hard pressed to imagine that he’s anywhere at this exact moment other than the studio. Between sessions with the The Beastie Boy’s Mike D to The Beach Boy’s Bruce Johnston, it’s no secret that Skrillex has been hoarding up what seems like a bottomless trove of unreleased music as predictions surrounding his sophomore LP seem to ramp up by the hour. Adding to his sole outright musical appearance of 2020, an inclusion on Ty Dolla $ign’s “Ego Death” earlier this year, Skrillex’s assist game is back on tap for a feature alongside DJ Scheme on “Selection” from Lil Tecca’s new LP, Virgo World.
Overlooking the track’s brief run-time of just under two minutes, Skrillex’s “Selection” touts a bouyant top-shelf production with DJ Scheme that gratifyingly rests in the backdrop of Lil Tecca’s free flowing bars. With more than a year now having now passed since Skrillex’s last outing, the assists continue to tolerably fill the void as the wait ensues for what Skrillex potentially has mapped out in the coming months.
