SOHMI is keeping white-hot while coming off a torrential summer of resounding festival stops, including humble little happenings like Coachella and Electric Forest. This weekend, she’ll take her unrelenting DJ prowess on the road to two infamous club locales: San Francisco’s Audio (Friday, November 18) and Chicago’s Spybar (Saturday, November 19). And she’ll likely arrive with recent dancefloor weaponry like “Somebody” in tow.
“Somebody” is the eternally effervescent DJ/producer’s latest release, out via dance music powerhouse destination Thrive Music. She dubs her satiating strain of dance music “minimal pop-tech,” a supremely feminine and driving complement to Boris Brejcha and his “high-tech minimal,” whom she opened for during her last club run in Chicago. Known to flaunt her vocal chops, SOHMI wields “Somebody,” one piece of a four-part EP, to let her equal parts delicate and dynamic energy flow freely through her deft songwriting and kaleidoscopic melodies. Purchase tickets here to catch her this weekend in Chicago.
