Spotify is the first music streaming platform on virtual gaming universe Roblox, gifting fans a brand new space, aptly named Spotify Island, in which players will enter a “paradise of sound.” The new island in the metaverse allows players to explore new quests, sounds, and exclusive merchandise alongside their favorite artists.
Able to create new sounds through virtual beat maker by Soundtrap, gamers are able to immerse themselves fully in the audio experience. All the while, players will be hunting for musical Easter eggs and climbing “The Charts” through collecting points in the game, shipping out to seasonal themed islands throughout the year. The first themed feature is K-Park—a K-Pop inspired island that allots for fans to interact with megastars Stray Kids and SUNMI, and Spotify’s portion of all purchases made via exclusive in-game merchandise will be given back to the artists.
