Recently Sven Väth performed at the opening of Tesla‘s new Gigafactory in East Berlin on Tuesday, March 22. The Cocoon label boss played an exclusive set in front of the manufacturer’s employees, clients, family and friends gathered at the new facility in Gruenheide. Many celebrated and danced along with Tesla’s Chief Executive, Elon Musk, as he enjoyed the day’s techno soundtracking and joked with attendees in front of the factory’s neon-clad tunnel.
This isn’t the first time the pair have team up for a collaboration. Musk is a techno enthusiast. The entrepreneur originally made his first foray into music with the single “Don’t Doubt ur Vibe” under the Elon “EDM” Musk moniker back in 2020. Following the release, Sven Väth bestowed Musk with an edit, and a remix of the tune by Gregor Tresher at an awards ceremony. “Elon Musk is a lover of electronic music and that’s why you might hear the compilation on your first space flight sometime,” said Väth of Musk at the ceremony before presenting him a physical form of the short compilation in a medium-sized box set, hand painted by his son Tiga.
In an Instagram post, Väth said this of the Space X founder: “I consider him one of the great visionaries of our time. Making a difference for all of us on this planet. But he does not stop there. He goes beyond. I was amazed how he could address complex questions with such precision. When asked why he likes techno so much, he instantly said: ‘Maximum Human!’ How right he is. I have done so many interviews in my career. I should have kept them minimum like Mr Musk.”
