KAYTRANADA‘s creative drift has remained ever consistent since his breakout, churning out multidimensional executional range in the form of original music, instrumental reloads, and visuals. Now, his tasteful command brings the newest project to the table—a short film for single, “Look Easy.”
Featuring Lucky Daye, the R&B-infused production initially dropped in July, cementing KAYTRANADA’s inaugural release of the year and following the Grammy-nominated act’s sophomore LP, BUBBA. The visual accompaniment joins a potent handful of recent KAYTRANADA videos, including “Need It,” “10%,” and “Puff Lah,” that elaborate upon their sonic originators in stylistically-enthused deliveries. However, the short for “Look Easy” takes its conceptual effort one step further, diving into a yakuza-influenced plot and building its action-driven world with saturated cinematography and cyber aesthetics.
