From the rebirth of DJ Hanzel to his maiden drum ‘n’ bass performance during the recent Isolation virtual festival, as well as all of his musical efforts in between, there’s been no stoppage to Dillon Francis’ quarantine activity. To cap off a long summer without the festival circuit, Dillon Francis has partnered up alongside Malibu Rum for a trap renewal of the viral 2010 hit, “The Coconut Song (Da Coconut Nut).”
To help piece together the visual for the release, Dillon Francis is recruiting fans to learn and submit a video of the track’s associated dance, choreographed by Matt Steffanina, using the hashtag #TheCoconutChallenge. For every video shared until August 24, Malibu has pledged to match $1 up to $250,000 to provide aid to businesses in need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which follows the company’s $150,000 donation to the National Urban League. Francis expanded on his involvement in the campaign, stating:
“The Coconut Nut is a perfect lighthearted anthem for summer vibes, so I hope my new Malibu remix and #TheCoconutChallenge can provide a moment of reprieve while everything in the world still seems so uncertain.”
