CLIPZ Continues To Tease Forthcoming Project With New Single ‘The Touch’ Featuring Rose Gray

CLIPZ follows a massive 2023 punctuated by Hottest Records and festival lineups with latest single ‘The Touch’ feat. Rose Gray, continuing to tease a forthcoming wider project.

Previous singles off the project include voltaic Notting Hill Carnival favourite I Like with rising stars KAM-BU, Tia Carys, and Lady Ice, which was supported by Jack Saunders, Danny Howard, and Jeremiah Asiamah on BBC Radio 1. Meanwhile, recent earworm Say Less with Obi Franky took off at radio, securing Clara Amfo’s Hottest Record title on BBC Radio 1.

With roots deep within the dance music renaissance in Bristol that ultimately saw him spearheading its growth, CLIPZ is a uniquely authentic soul in an increasingly plastic industry. Entrenched in the vital 90s rave movement at the age of 13, he found himself neck-deep in a true love for music and the underground scene that soundtracked his adolescence. Since then, the versatile producer has not only conquered every corner of the scene under his aliases Redlight and CLIPZ but has worked with an impressive list of musicians from childhood heroes to next up talent.

In addition to a diverse array of collaborations such as hip-hop royalty Mobb Deep, national treasure Ms Dynamite, Break, Chris Down, Rudimental, and more, the producer has worked closely with star-powered jungle princess Nia Archives in the last few years. From amassing over 2M streams on their collaboration No Time to claiming production credits on her recent hit Bad Gyalz to going B2B with Paul Woolford at her Central Warehouse takeover UP YA ARCHIVES this past December, CLIPZ has given back to the scene that raised him by backing the new gen of fellow jungle legends. CLIPZ continued to demonstrate his affinity for striking collaborative gold in 2023 when he landed yet another Hottest Record from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders for his track with Rudimental and Deyaz, Thunderstorm following credits on London rapper Finn Foxell’s TYSON.

Always seeking to widen his horizons with fresh perspective via multiple creative outlets, CLIPZ saw continued success with his house-centric musical alias Redlight this past year. 2023 saw collaborations with the likes of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and a joint international tour as both CLIPZ and Redlight this past spring that took him across Bristol’s Love Saves The Day, London’s Brixton Jamm and Fabric, Japan’s Circus and STARFESTIVAL, and more.

Meanwhile, featured singer on ‘The Touch’ Rose Gray also saw an impressive 2023. She released her well-received EP Higher Than The Sun, collaborated with 14 time diamond record holder Kungs on Afraid Of Nothing, which landed the cover of The Dance List on Spotify and premiered on Clara Amfo’s BBC Radio 1 show, and boasts a feature on the FIFA ‘23 soundtrack with her BBC Radio 1 backed anthem Prettier Than You.

Described as a Brit Pop revivalist, the East London native developed a love for night life growing up among the warehouses and sunrises of the city’s thriving rave ecosystem. Influenced heavily by 90s dance music and icons like Miss Kier of Deee-Lite, Rose Gray captures club-pop through the lens of the underground on tracks like Same Cloud from her 2021 album Dancing, Drinking, Talking, Thinking, which currently sits at over 1M streams.

She adds her magic touch to ‘The Touch’, contributing vocals to a D&B track for the first time. Emotive and levitating, the track showcases Rose Gray’s honeyed vocals alongside an effortlessly slick and charismatic D&B beat with late-night vibes. CLIPZ continues to keep it vibrant and true to his roots on his latest single, heralding an increasingly exciting full-length project on the horizon.
