Foot Locker Reaffirms Its Legacy with ‘It Always Will Be Foot Locker’ Campaign

Foot Locker has officially unveiled “It Always Will Be Foot Locker,” a comprehensive new brand platform designed to honor the company’s enduring influence on global sneaker and basketball culture. This initiative serves as a tribute to the retailer’s role as a cornerstone of the industry for over half a century.

The campaign is anchored by a compelling two-minute brand anthem narrated by Method Man and developed in collaboration with the creative agency Someplace. The film serves as a visual journey through the most defining moments in sneaker history, showcasing iconic silhouettes such as the original red-and-black Air Jordan 1, the adidas Stan Smith, the Converse Weapon, New Balance Grey styles, and the Nike Air Force 1.

Beyond the aesthetic appeal of the footwear, the campaign emphasizes the role of sneakers as a vital form of self-expression. It also highlights the iconic Foot Locker Striper as a consistent, recognizable figure throughout generations of sneaker enthusiasts. Brett O’Brien, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at Foot Locker, noted, “For more than 50 years, Foot Locker has given sneaker culture a true home.”

Reflecting on the project, Method Man described the collaboration as deeply personal, emphasizing that for him, sneakers represent identity, inspiration, and the meaningful moments that define one’s life path.

The campaign is set to span a wide array of media, including broadcast, social, digital, out-of-home, and in-store activations. Furthermore, Foot Locker is expanding the initiative with “Sole Stories,” a 36-episode short-form documentary series produced with Hartbeat. This series will feature various creators, tastemakers, and dedicated sneaker enthusiasts as they share the personal stories behind their most influential pairs of shoes.
