The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights' is the first song in history to spend a full year in the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 chart – Mix Session

The Weeknd‘s smash hit “Blinding Lights,” recently featured in Kissland producer’s 2021 Super Bowl halftime show performance, has now become the first song in history to spend an entire year in the top 10 of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Initially released in November 2019 as a lead After Hours single, “Blinding Lights” has now spent a continuous 64 weeks in the Hot 100.

To achieve this monumental record, “Blinding Lights” had to surpass previous top-charting songs including Post Malone‘s “Circles,” which spent 39 weeks in the top 10, and Malone and Swae Lee‘s “Sunflower,” which spent 33 weeks in the top 10.

This news comes after Showtime confirmed the production of a documentary, The Show, detailing the star’s Super Bowl performance. The visual is slated for release later this year.
