As recreational drugs and particularly psychedelics have increasingly made their way to the mainstream over the years, Netflix has zeroed in on psychedelics as the subject of their new original film. Entitled, Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelia, the upcoming documentary will explore hallucinogens through an investigative-comedy lens and feature stories from an extensive list of Hollywood’s actors, musicians, and comedians. The streaming leader unveiled a preview of the film with its first trailer on Friday, May 1.
Written and directed by the Emmy-winning Donick Cary, Have a Good Trip will examine multifaceted questions about psychedelics including the science, cultural impact, cosmic possibilities, and more, framing the film with a blend of interviews, reenactments, and trippy animations. Ad-Rock, A$AP Rocky, Sting, Reggie Watts, Anthony Bourdain, Carrie Fisher, Ben Stiller, and Natasha Lyonne are some of the various celebrities that appear in the star-studded documentary.
