Georgi Drops Hypnotic New Single “That Night” ft. Sanjay

Emerging electro-pop artist Georgi is making waves with her latest single, “That Night,” featuring Sanjay.

A hypnotic blend of pulsing synths, brooding melodies, and haunting vocals, the track offers a glimpse into her highly anticipated debut album, Love After Dark, set to drop later this year on Bitch House Records.

Produced and mixed by Al P of MSTRKRFT, “That Night” channels darkwave and retrowave influences, delivering a moody, dancefloor-ready anthem that explores the intensity of fleeting connections.

“I wanted to make something dark and sexy but filled with heartbreak,” says Georgi. “This song reflects a time when I felt creatively restrained as a DJ. Now, the landscape is changing, and I’m finally getting to share my vision.”

A Sound Born from Frustration and Passion

Georgi’s journey into music has been anything but conventional. Raised as the youngest of six by a single mother, she first fell in love with songwriting at age five. Initially enrolling in business school in New York, she later transitioned to the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute to study acting. But when the pandemic forced classes online, Georgi returned to her first love – music.

Her transition from acting to DJing was swift. In 2021, she booked her first gig and never looked back, racking up 150 performances in her first year alone. Playing at legendary venues like The Brooklyn Mirage, AREA15 Las Vegas, and Future Factory LA, she shared the stage with Eli & Fur, ARTBAT, Charlotte de Witte, The Chainsmokers, and Kaskade.

“I noticed a gap in the dance music scene. Festivals had house, techno, trance, and bass stages, but where was synth music?” Georgi explains. “That question shaped my sound today.”

“That Night” Captures a Synth-Driven Movement

With “That Night,” Georgi blends darkwave, synth-pop, and retrowave elements, embracing the underground electronic sound that inspired her. Al P, who co-produced the track, was immediately drawn to its lyrical depth.

“The line ‘Just say my name, tell me I’m real, I’d sell my soul if you made the deal’ felt like something Bowie would write,” he says.

The song embodies the cinematic, emotionally charged aesthetic that Georgi has cultivated in her work, balancing melancholic storytelling with pulsing beats.

Georgi’s Rise in the Electronic Music Scene

Since 2023, Georgi has expanded beyond traditional DJ sets, opening for Boy Harsher, Sextile, Pixel Grip, and King Woman, further solidifying her place in the electronic and darkwave communities.

Her debut album, Love After Dark, brings together industrial, EBM, and techno influences. Collaborations with Dave Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, NIN) and Anthony Valcic (Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy) add a gritty, textured sound, while remixes from goth and darkwave artists like Shad Shadows and Aesthetic Perfection elevate the project.

Georgi’s work extends beyond performance – her top-line songwriting credits on Revealed Records have amassed over six million streams.

“That Night” Marks a New Era for Georgi

“That Night” isn’t just a song – it’s a statement. With Love After Dark, Georgi is reshaping the conversation around synth-driven dance music, carving out a space for the genre in mainstream electronic culture.

As the industry catches up with her vision, she’s ready to take center stage.

“I started my career as an angry 21-year-old DJ who couldn’t play what I wanted,” she reflects. “Now, things are shifting, and it’s exciting to be part of that change.”

“That Night” is available now on all streaming platforms. Listen here.
