March 8 is International Women’s Day. To celebrate, Apple Music invited Chloe Bailey—of the sister duo Chloe x Halle, to put her personal touch on their infamous High Maintenance playlist. Bailey’s curated list has a mixture of classic R&B, Jazz, Pop, and rap. You’ll hear songs from Beyoncé to Flo Milli and Ariana Grande to Kelis. In an interview with Apple Music, Bailey said she looks to other strong women in R&B for inspiration.
“I picked ‘Deep End’ by Fousheé because every time I hear ‘Shawty gon’ get that paper,’ it reminds me to keep my head up and grind hard for what I want,” Bailey tells Apple Music. “And I always keep ‘Got Her Own’ by Syd on repeat because I don’t ever need any man to help me reach my goals and dreams. I get to where I want to be on my own. We are queens without ever needing a king.” said Bailey.
