Actor Diego Boneta, star of “Luis Miguel: The Series”, joins Becky G to talk about LatinX representation in Hollywood.
From feeling like they were only being allowed to play Latin stereotypes in roles to becoming superheroes in their own rights. Watch as they are here to change what it means to be a LatinX icon and also play one on TV.
Diego Boneta also shares more about his struggle to break into the U.S. entertainment market from Mexico. “So I moved here and I had…I don’t wanna say an easy start in Mexico but every audition that I went on I got. So [when] I moved here being, like, ‘Okay, I got this. You know, Hollywood’s going to be easy.’ Pfft. Slap in the face.”
Diego Boneta also reveals the lack of support he felt from his Mexican colleagues.“I didn’t feel a huge support from fellow Mexican colleagues when I first moved here. The contrary…it definitely had an impact on me.”
