With all of the issues with race relations in this country, the last thing that’s needed is the ugly face of racism rearing its head in the world of entertainment.
That’s exactly what happened when Linda Hogan, ex-wife of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan tweeted “watching the looting, it’s all afro Americans, not sure how robbing and stealing set the record straight but if they want to be heard they need to be civilized” in response to the protest for the police-related death of George Floyd.
Subsequently, All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan banned both Hogans from AEW and prohibited them from being used in any further promotion of the federation. Khan’s response to the tweet? “You’ve now joined your husband in being banned from all AEW shows. Congratulations.”
