‘In my first original track,’ says Michelle ‘I wanted to lead with something groovy and amapiano inspired; also accessible and bright (summer in LA-made), harmonizing popular sensibilities with diverse elements like rolling log drums and a Santana-inspired riff. With spliced & looped samples and spaced dropouts, I wanted it to feel delivered by a DJ who loves to connect with the crowd. I wanted it to feel both from here and also drawn from the world’s farthest corners, bridging cultures and sonic traditions, serving up something sweet, fun, but also sexy, and in a word: a vibe’.
