The Widdler Takes Us On Cosmic Journey Through Many Facets Of Dubstep With 43-track Debut Album “Zero G”

SubCarbon, the label of dubstep titan duo Ganja White Night, is thrilled to release the highly anticipated debut album from Austin-based artist The Widdler, aptly titled “Zero G.”

After years of refining his sound and amassing a vast collection of experimental music, The Widdler is finally letting it loose. “Zero G” is a sprawling journey through the multifaceted world of bass and dubstep, clocking in at a staggering 43 tracks. From the rasta-inspired, womp-heavy album’s title track “Zero G” to the dark, deep bass of “Echo Chamber”, the rhythmic urban sound of “Holland” and more, finally to the ethereal, dreamy basscapes of “Rooftops,” The Widdler truly takes the listener on a labyrinth-esque journey through time and space. He sets the bar high for future projects, leaving us wondering what his next artistic venture could possibly be. Read more about this epic project from the artist himself below:

“This album has been a long time coming. I’ve notoriously sat on a whole bunch of music for years and I thought it was time to let it go. My main goal for the album was to showcase the different facets of what dubstep can be. The dark, brooding tracks invite you into introspective spaces, evoking a sense of isolation and self-reflection. These are the ones produced at 3am in a dark smokey room just soaking up the space and vastness of being alone at night. On the other hand, the party tunes are all about letting loose and embracing the moment with unapologetic, ignorant fun. Throw some silly samples in front of a wonky drop and I’m sold. A few of the songs aren’t dubstep at all but, in my mind, sit at the same table at lunchtime. Still being driven by full bass, they are more melodic and I’ve always had fun exploring outside of 140. This album gave me a chance to sprinkle a little bit of those sounds you won’t hear from me at a live show but are still a big part of my production life. In the end, this music is an extension of myself and my journey of figuring out my style leading up to this point.” – The Widdler
