With over 50 self-released originals across two decades, I AM has never been one to do the same ol’ thing. But with “No More”, his first official music video and latest single, the longtime producer and storyteller steps out in a new way.
Getting into the story, “No More” blends lo-fi and spoken word to create a track that pulls you into a moment. A vibe that stays in one’s consciousness long after the song ends. “After I found the sounds and vocals, it felt like a story needed to be told. No more just sitting around and being stuck in your mind, when the right song hits it pulls you into the world.”
That sense of memory and mood runs through every part of the track. Built on soft textures and unhurried pacing, “No More” sounds like nostalgia caught mid-thought. “Each sound just put me in a mood. You can be at home, in a car, or even at a show—and this song pulls you into yourself. It reminds you of the beauty each of us has inside.”
The video, filmed and edited himself, goes deeper. Known for performing in a custom DJ helmet, he intentionally removes it in this release. “I made my DJ helmet as a way to bring out expressions I felt needed a conduit. So for this song, ‘No More’ means I no longer need that conduit. It taught me who I AM.”
Transitions in the video track between two versions of the artist—who he was and who he’s becoming. “The visuals show the differences of thoughts, goals, and such between who I wanted to be and who I currently was, ending in the combined soul. It’s a feeling of being complete within myself.”
After years of flying under the radar, this feels like a new chapter. “Definitely this points me in a new direction—but same goals. Every song I create allows me to move to the next level, the next feeling. I think that’s how you know you’re growing—when your expression changes.”
As for what’s next? That stays intentionally open. “Doors are opening. All I’ll say is: all of the above.”
“No More” will be available on July 16th, with the video dropping on July 1st.
