iHeartMedia and Robin Hood announce May 11 'Rise Up New York' fundraiser

In a much-needed dose of good news, iHeartMedia has teamed up with Robin Hood, New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization for “Rise Up New York!,” a Tina Fey-hosted fundraiser with appearances from everybody from Governor Cuomo to Trevor Noah, and performances from NY staples like Billy Joel and Mariah Carey.

The event will provide much-needed relief to New Yorkers during these excruciating circumstances, contributing food, shelter, physical and mental health services, and resources for education. Robin Hood CEO Wes Moore stated, “New York City is at the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis has created a whole new set of challenges for the millions of New Yorkers who already struggled to make ends meet.”

Additional appearances are expected from across the board, from Eli Manning to Jake Gyllenhaal, but the real star of the evening is expected to be the city’s healthcare and frontline workers who will be sharing their first-hand experiences during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“Rise Up New York!” takes place at 7 p.m. ET Monday, May 11 and will be nationally broadcast on CNBC. Find full details about the event here.
