Out with the (somewhat) old, in with the new. Apple has announced a new 13-inch MacBook Pro ahead of expectations.
While the upgraded model offers modest improvements over last year’s release, the leading story behind Apple’s latest laptop is the shift away from the butterfly keyboard with the introduction of the Magic Keyboard. This effectively rinses the leading line of laptops of the problematic typing tech in the 6 months since their 16-inch MacBook Pro was announced.
Other notable changes to the 2020 MBP come in the form of storage, upgrading the base model from 128 GB to 256 GB and the addition of quad-core Intel Core processors with a Turbo Boost up to 4.1 GHz. As expected, further upgrades are readily available, with an upgrade to 16 GB of RAM costing only $100 for this model, as opposed to $200 for last year’s.
The base model starts at $1,299, with $100 shaved off for those currently in education. Find full specs and order the new MacBook Pro here.
