Amidst the sharp spike in COVID-19 cases around the United States, New Orleans’ BUKU Music + Art Project has moved forward in the decision to cancel their interim festival, Planet B. Boasting a lineup of diverse headliners such as Megan Thee Stallion, Illenium, Machine Gun Kelly and more, event planners for Planet B have chosen to wait to bring their one-of-a-kind festival back in light of cases spiking from around 300 to over 5,000 cases in Louisiana alone. Sharing in a statement released via social media, organizers explained,
“…By putting the health of the community first NOW, we believe we are doing the right thing to preserve the FUTURE and ensure that this surge is the last.”
Issuing full refunds within the coming weeks and encouraging the community to get vaccinated, the minds behind the festival maintain that BUKU will be back in full force come March 25 and 26 of 2022. Read the full statement below.
