Calvin Harris has sold his publishing catalog to Vine Alternative Investments for an estimated $90 to $110 million, according to a source acquainted with the value of Harris’ catalog.
The transaction effectively transfers the rights to Harris’ catalog to Vine Alternative Investments, an investment management firm focused on investing in the media and entertainment sector established in 2006. Although the exact terms and conditions of the deal have not been disclosed, Harris catalog is known to span more than 150 songs, including collaborations with Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Big Sean, and a fold of other high-profile, cross-genre acts. Notably, the news of the sale comes just days after Harris’ announcement that both “One Kiss” and “This Is What You Came For” had each amassed 1 billion Spotify streams.
Harris’ manager, Three Six Zero CEO Mark Gillespie, described Vine’s process as “extremely smooth,” stating,
“We valued their quick response time, exceptional knowledge of the space, and straight-forward approach. We are very comfortable that they will be great stewards of the catalog.”
Vine Alternative Investments’ acquirement of Harris’ publishing catalog follows its September purchase of the rights to Sean Douglas’ 100-song catalog. Douglas is memorable for his work with Demi Lovato, Lizzo, and David Guetta.
