Two impenetrable forces, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, have teamed up to create their new band, Silk Sonic, and this is surely the collaboration we’ve unknowingly desired all along.
Both taking to social media this week to boost the newly minted musical fusion, the two have taunted fans with a forthcoming album, An Evening With Silk Sonic featuring a special guest host—frequent James Brown collaborator as well as member of Parliament Funkadelic host Bootsy Collins.
The joint record will be Mars’ first album back since his Grammy-winning 24K Magic in 2016, and .Paak’s 2019 Ventura. Despite being on multiple records with huge names like Gucci Mane, Cardi B, and Kanye West, the superpower duo have been laying relatively low until now. The album art and the special guest suggest fans should prepare themselves for the ultimate chance to get down and boogie.
Stay tuned for the Silk Sonic debut and first single out on March 5.
