Ibiza nightlife is officially back.
The famed White Isle, celebrated as perhaps the epicenter of global dance culture, has seen its rich nightlife scene shuttered for the better part of two years. While there have been sporadic openings since 2019’s season, there has yet to be a full season, though thankfully it appears 2022 might be back to business as usual. According to Diario de Ibiza, nightclubs will be opening in April. The manager of the Ocio de Ibiza, José Luis Benítez, said, “The idea is that the opening will be at the end of April, two weeks ahead of what is normally done” and will “continue on until October … November if all goes well.”
Ibiza was hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Much like the rest of the music industry, it relies on revenue from tourism and live music to survive. The island’s nightclubs, such as Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, and Ushuaïa Ibiza to name a few, can get busy prepping for what could turn out to be the longest clubbing season in Ibiza’s history; fittingly extended comeback after a long, quiet hiatus.
