In a deal that foreshadows future development of the East Coast electronic event circuit, Insomniac Events has acquired Club Glow and two of Washington, DC’s famed dance venues, Echostage and Soundcheck.
Founded in 1999, Club Glow has reigned as one of DC’s most impactful electronic music event promotion entities for more than 20 years, heightening its stature in the DC music market with its installation of Echostage in the northeast quadrant in 2012. In 2015, Glow opened Soundcheck in the northwest quadrant, offering a more intimate counterpart to Echostage. The two venues are regarded as staple sites of the DC dance scene.
Beyond sculpting the DC live events landscape through its conception of Echostage and Soundcheck, Club Glow, headed by President and CEO Pete Kalamoutsos, is also noteworthy for producing Moonrise Festival and Preakness InfieldFest. Pasquale Rotella praised Glow’s influence in a press release, stating,
“Glow has been a champion of dance music culture for over 20 years, and Pete and his team have been instrumental in helping grow and shape the entire East Coast scene. I couldn’t be happier to align our teams and continue raising the bar for live dance music experiences”
Kalamoutsos stated,
“After two decades of producing some of the biggest dance music events on the East Coast, it’s time to write a new chapter. Pasquale and I were cut from the same cloth, and our visions align when it comes to dance music. I couldn’t imagine a better opportunity to continue to grow Glow, Echostage and Soundcheck than with the team at Insomniac.”
