Lastlings close ‘Perfect World’ previews with fifth and final single, ‘Gravity’

It feels like just yesterday that Lastlings‘ post-First Contact chapter commenced. But it’s already been eight months since “Get What You Want” landed, with less than two weeks now left until the brother-sister pairing’s sophomore LP lands in full on June 23. Before Perfect World is explored in full via Rose Avenue Records, Lastlings have offered up one final album preview, “Gravity.”

“Gravity”—trailing “Get What You Want,” “Holding Me Like Water,” “Noise,” and “Out My Head“—undeniably stands as the most dance-centered cut from the Perfect World map that’s been unlocked in the time since October of 2022. But it wasn’t a straightforward path to its end result, with Lastlings explaining that they just simply couldn’t get past the finish line “throughout the entirety of writing this record.” Adding in unused vocals from something Amy Dowdle had previously written and tapping Rinzen to help wrap a darkened production bow around it, “Gravity” once again further Lastlings’ maturation in 2023. Count down the days until Perfect World is here and stream Lastlings’ final single below.
