Prophecy surprise release update of La Roux’s 2009 classic, ‘In For The Kill’

Ever since Miami Music Week’s final hours this past March, many were scouring social media for what was believed to be a rework of La Roux’s “In For The Kill” in John Summit‘s set at Factory Town. And after the Off The Grid boss brought it—which was identified to be Prophecy‘s update—to WIlliamsburg during his three-night stint at The Brooklyn Mirage, it seemed the time had officially come for the duo to see it free. That’s now the case—literally—with Prophecy sharing it as a free download through their SoundCloud after previously teasing it on the Dancing Astronaut Instagram.

Nearly a decade and a half later, Prophecy breathe new life into La Roux’s 2009 Grammy-nominated classic as their fifth release of the year, following “Rave to this Beat,” “Revolution,” “Knowledge,” and “Pills” from early May. And La Roux’s original gets moved over from its synth-pop form to an electric state of melodic techno, which understandably made for one of the single most memorable moments on both the second and third night’s of Summit’s run in Brooklyn at the start of June. Stream it below and secure a free download on Prophecy’s SoundCloud.
