Music streaming giant, Spotify has implemented a new experience within the app, though it is a feature that some may already be familiar with. Spotify’s sister app Spotify Greenroom, which launched last year, is now being integrated into the main platform under a new name, “Spotify Live.”
Spotify Live will continue to work as Greenroom operated where creators are able to interact with their audience, similar to technology leader Clubhouse. Listening live within the main Spotify app will now also be possible, but will not support the interactive features, like audience questions. Creators will be able to reach a larger audience through this new functionality, with more than 406 million listeners across the globe.
A post on the Swedish company’s website explains, “Listeners will be able to tune in to live programming on Spotify via the creator’s podcast or artist page, and if they want to participate in the chat or join the host onstage, they can head to the Spotify Live app to do so.” For more details, head over to Spotify’s website.
