Earlier this year, deadmau5 brought his “Day of the deamdau5” show on the road for a pair of Halloween appearances in Atlanta and Chicago respectively. Following 2019’s sold out Red Rocks affair, deadmau5 was forced to swap out his famous cube rig for a drive-in setup in 2020, though, despite some operational differences, the performance mau5 put on was as airtight as ever. Now, 2020’s “Day of the deadmau5” set is available for repeated listening pleasure as the performance lands on Apple Music as a mixed collection.
From “The Veldt” to “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” deadmau5 laces together his catalog’s finest standouts with cuts from Dillon Francis, Tommy Trash, Michael Woods, and more. This year’s marquee collaboration with The Neptunes, “Pomegranate” makes an appearance, as well as the Rob Swire-assisted “Monophobia” and a pair of unreleased IDs to open and close the mix.
“Day of the deadmau5” handily holds a spot as one of this year’s most enticing mixes, and while the mau5trap helmer has managed to keep himself busy throughout a mostly gutted 2020, we’re hoping for a return of the cube, crowds, and much more as 2021 approaches.
