Enter Koastle, an Orange County-based DJ/producer duo who is adding some flare to the electronic music scene. They’ve been making inroads this year through their passion project, “Koastcards,” a series that yields one mix, one unofficial remix, and one new original song every month. So far, the adventure has taken them through live mixes at an aquarium and Joshua Tree, respectively, with a handful of original singles to boot. “Hurricane” features Australian singer/songwriter Talia Rose, and is an experimental take on the future bass sound that listeners know and love from the likes of Flume‘s earlier days and ODESZA, but their latest track, “Dr. Phil” features Sammy Adams with a more playful take on the same sound. It’s already gone viral, thanks to being dubbed over a trailer for Project X.
For their latest mix, Koastle grace Dancing Astronaut‘s “The Radar” with a nearly 60-minute masterpiece rife with hand-picked originals, mash-ups, and popular remixes from previous DJ sets. It’s evident that their live show would be a straight up party, as proven by edits of The Kid LAROI mashed with Olivia Rodrigo, a Don Diablo remix of Dua Lipa‘s “Levitate,” and some of their own personal flips that are certified crowdpleasers.
