The pre-VMAs rollout has continued with a flush of additional artists tapped to provide live performances at the 2020 ceremony. Joining the ranks of previously announced entertainers, BTS, Doja Cat, and J Balvin, are The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, Maluma, and CNCO, who are also slated to appear at various locations around New York on August 30.
At present, MTV has not yet disclosed where, specifically, these performances will be delivered across the city, but recently announced that the annual gathering would go outdoors in a deviation from the original plan to hold the 2020 VMAs at Barclay’s Center. Regardless, the show promises celebrated returns and debuts alike, with The Weeknd appearing for the second time in VMA performance history and Rich nabbing his first-ever live stint. More details will expectedly be revealed in the weeks leading up to the live broadcast, to kick off at 8:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m. PST.
