Watch previously unseen footage of Madonna's 2006 Coachella debut

After being featured in this year’s Coachella weekend replacement, documentary film Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert, Madonna has unveiled new vault footage from her iconic 2006 Coachella debut. The acclaimed solo artist encompassed one of several stars including Daft Punk, Kanye West, Swedish House Mafia, Rage Against The Machine, and more, who appear in the historic chronicle of the California festival’s legacy.

The pop matriarch shared a full clip of a glamorous “Hung Up” performance from her Sahara Tent set. She premiered the unseen professionally-shot video of the global dance hit on her Youtube channel May 20. Following her 2006 appearance, the star returned to Coachella during Drake‘s 2015 set.

The legendary festival has been postponed to October as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, having been rescheduled from its April two-weekend slot for the first time in its 22-year history. Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean are slated to headline the event in the fall.
