borne And Alexis B Reunite On Dark, Sultry 140 Dubstep Collaboration “Hush”

Montreal native borne has been breathing an inventive air into bass-driven dance music with a sound conceived from his inclinations of UKG, bassline, house, trap and beyond.

Conversely, Mexico’s Alexis B is a genre-bending producer, a once teenage prodigy who’s grown to a full-fledged dynamic force that’s impossible to place in a corner. Joining forces once again comes the dark and heavy-hitting new single “Hush.” The release marks their second collaboration on the burgeoning NIGHTMODE imprint, following “Don’t Go,” which arrived on borne’s standout five-track ‘deep end’ EP released late last year. Their latest linkup also serves as the latest offering from the label’s 14th season of releases.

“Hush” is a 140 club weapon that fuses forward-thinking sound design with a beastly deep dubstep core. Slick breakbeat drums set the stage as room-rattling bass teases what lies ahead. Sultry, whispered vocals inject an uneasy yet sexy allure that’s deeply hypnotic. Buoyant basslines, clanking percussive hits, echoed vocals, and filthy low-end oscillations that mutate and evolve over time keep the track ever-exciting. The minimal mastery amplifies the intensity, with every sound carefully curated and perfectly placed for maximum impact. “Hush” feels like being led down dark alleys in exotic locales to find the wildest after hours that feel like the best kept secrets. Blurring the boundaries between seductive and shadowy, borne and Alexis B prove yet again why they’re one of electronic music’s newest dynamic duos.

“Let the bass of ‘Hush’ thump, while you move without a word.”—Alexis B
