ARMNHMR And VLCN Join Forces With Nevve On Enriching Melodic Bass Anthem “Afterglow”

ARMNHMR and VLCN combine strengths on their new anthemic collab “Afterglow,” featuring lauded singer-songwriter Nevve, arriving as the next single to surface from the STNS imprint.

LA-based duo ARMNHMR is an Asian American pair of producers making waves in the melodic bass space with a sound built around ethereal melodies and emotional drops. On the other hand, VLCN is a genre-blurring producer from Tampa Bay that has been bombarding the bass scene with his epic soundscapes. Finding the sweet spot between their respective styles, the two artists are tying up to release their new joint single on STNS.

Enlisting the vocal prowess of esteemed songstress Nevve, their collab “Afterglow” is a powerful offering penned about embracing change. Nevve’s distinct vocals depict the cyclical process of tides shifting like the seasons, with her words of encouragement gliding effortlessly across swelling melodies and light guitar strums. Once things reach a climactic turning point, the track balloons up with fuzzy bass and euphonious sweeping melodies that help romanticize the tough times that build character.

ARMNHMR expounds on the meaning behind their new single, saying, “This song is about change. It is about the ebbs and flows of life, and everything that comes along with it. It’s a song about feeling like your experience feels like it’s drifting against the current.”

VLCN shares his excitement for the release, adding: “This track has been one of my favorite pieces of work I have been a part of. It’s extremely catchy and the vocal catches your attention and doesn’t let go… Definitely going to be one that will be remembered.”

“Afterglow” follows ARMNHMR’s recent string of successes, including a sold-out arena headline show at Bill Graham and notable sellouts at Observatory festival grounds, Radius Chicago, Terminal 5, and Showbox Sodo. They originally connected with Nevve back in 2020 on “Here With Me,” one of the standout songs from their debut album ‘The Free World,’ which is nearing 4 million streams. The duo continues to capture a worldwide audience, recently becoming the first Asian American electronic duo to secure a high-profile residency on the Las Vegas strip.

Not only has he been rising up the ranks with his signature heavy dubstep sound, but VLCN is also commanding the emotional dance space, with “Afterglow” serving as his first full-blown melodic bass offering. He previously had two tracks, “MF” and “The Samurai,” plucked directly by Illenium for his ‘Lost Lands 2022’ set on Apple Music. He has also recently achieved headline sellouts at Heartbreaker Fest in Chicago, TK Lounge in Tampa, and Darkstar in Phoenix.

With “Afterglow” all three artists are poised to make a statement within the melodic bass community, with its powerful message and atmospheric energy ready to sweep across the impending festival season.
