Justice Release New Single ‘Incognito’

Iconic French electronic duo Justice have released their new single ‘Incognito’ – the latest track to be taken from eagerly-anticipated new album ‘Hyperdrama’, out April 26th.

‘Incognito’ opens with cinematic grandiosity before the song abruptly changes pace, plunging into a synth-laden odyssey and continuing the theme of the unexpected – which runs throughout the forthcoming album.

Of ‘Incognito’, Justice say:

“Like many songs on this record, it switches from all electronic to all human music abruptly, multiple times within its four minute run. The structure is dictated by what feels good at the moment it happens, without necessarily following any other rule. We had to unlearn everything we thought we knew about song structures, and music in general, when we started working on ‘Hyperdrama’, which was very refreshing.”

The double Grammy-winning duo’s new single ‘Incognito’ follows comeback singles ‘One Night/All Night starring Tame Impala’ and ‘Generator’ which were released in January.

The music video for ‘Generator’ – available to watch here – was a depiction of a sexual dalliance between two humanoid robots. It was dubbed “an epic, thrilling assault” by The Observer, with The Guardian hailing it “a monster, built around an electro bassline that lurches forward like a zombie in 80s sunglasses”. The Telegraph proclaimed ‘One Night/All Night starring Tame Impala’ “a sizzling return to form”, whilst Louder Than War said of the track: “A trance-inducing, turbocharged techno-chugger but inflected with delicious cosmic disco lines licking its lips when not introducing pedal to the metal through the matrix grids of the city.”

Though the release date and artwork for new album ‘Hyperdrama’ have been revealed, further details such as its full tracklisting are still under wraps.

Justice were recently announced as a headliner of Field Day Festival, as well as topline performer at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which will act as the debut performance of their as-yet-unseen new live show. The festival adds to an already busy slate of festival appearances for the band this year, with more dates to be announced soon.
