Nejvex Fuses Color Bass Elements With House and Drum & Bass On Two-Tracker ‘I Want Your Love / Hyperion’

Nejvex is a rising talent from the Czech Republic who has been building an impressive catalog that leans into melodic dubstep and color bass.

The producer is making his debut on SLANDER’s Heaven Sent imprint with the double-sided release ‘I Want Your Love / Hyperion.’ The two tracks build upon the artist’s vibrant signature sound while exploring the realms of house and drum & bass.

The lead track “I Want Your Love” sets the stage with its captivating allure. Bright synths and chirping bird samples conjure images of a sun-filled morning ripe with hope. Frothy textures drift under intensifying drums, while the namesake vocals create an exciting and inviting groove. The drops blur the boundaries between house and color bass, infusing metallic clanks and rapid-fire laser sequences with rolling basslines and layers of addictive love-filled vocals. “I Want Your Love” is pure elation, offering listeners an energetic, bright, and forward-thinking bop. It’s a futuristic love song that’ll have you moving all day and night.

Acting as a true B-side, “Hyperion” shifts the scene for a moody drum and bass-tinged affair. The introduction is reflective and mysterious. Organic samples are mixed with pensive piano keys and hauntingly beautiful vocal bends for an epic introduction. It’s a divine experience with darker undertones to keep things thrilling. The DnB drops infuse hypnotic melodies, frenetic drums, and smooth low-end, all of which blend together into a sound that is vibey and upbeat. Despite the new direction, Nejvex still injects his color bass roots with vibrant flourishes and glitchy hints sauntering throughout.

Nejvex reflects on the two-side release, saying: “‘I Want Your Love’ and ‘Hyperion’ are both my first ventures into genres that I haven’t previously explored. I made these tracks in a period when I was just beginning to fiddle around with other styles, in order to keep it fresh since I come from a mostly dubstep background. I tried to put my own flair on house and drum & bass, adding a special ‘color bass’ vibe to both, which I haven’t exactly seen anyone do in this fashion. Although the two tracks are quite different in style, it made sense to put them together for an A/B release.”

Hailing from the Czech Republic, Nejvex has been making his name known globally with a bass-heavy discography that straddles the line between melodic dubstep and color bass. The producer was recently commissioned by SLANDER and JT Roach for an official remix of their smash collab “Watch Over Me,” which has since seen support from the legendary Illenium. Nejvex is becoming a favorite in the electronic music scene with Franky Nuts, Virtual Riot, Sharks, Au5, and Skybreak all supporting his work.

‘I Want Your Love / Hyperion’ charters new ground for Nejvex without losing the signature style that fans have come to love.
