Love & Hip-Hop Miami artist Kamillion is ready to take the next step in her career. In 2020 alone, the Florida native hit her stride from the success of her viral hit “Twerk 4 Me.”
The success of “Twerk 4 Me” exemplifies the power of social media as well as Kamillion’s persistent nature. She first released the song back in 2018. The impact of the song came into fruition nearly two years after its release. After a number of TikTok, Reels and Thriller videos, the track topped Billboard’s Top Triller Global charts.
“Twerk 4 Me” samples Ben E King’s “Stand By Me.” Despite an attempt to come to terms with King’s representatives, she was not given sample clearance. It did not stop her momentum.
Before making a viral hit, Kamillion was a hit-making song writer. Her sharp pen led to songs with Rihanna, H.E.R., Trey Songz, Diddy-Dirty Money and more. She received writing credits on “Rather Be” from H.E.R.’s self-titled Grammy Award winning EP. Despite the success, she has put her songwriting past behind her.
Now she is more focus on her work as a solo artist. Kamillion is gearing up to drop her latest project before the end of the year. It will showcase her writing prowess as both a rapper and a singer.
With that being said, her latest single, “No Breaks” is set to hit the streets on Friday, Dec. 4. The song’s cover art draws comparison to the uniqueness of Grammy award-winning music legend, Missy Elliot.
“No Break’ drops Friday.”
