Bridging together culture and music, BOSA has showcased his innovation once again with his new EP, Contrast. Released on the exotic imprint Alpha Pup Records, Contrast is much more than just a collection of four songs. The compilation takes listeners on an auditory adventure into the mind of BOSA and his collaborators.
Joining forces with long-time fellow artist MonsterLuna, the two are responsible for forging “Mon Coeur” and “Mama Quilla” on Contrast. In “Mon Coeur”, soothing guitar chords are accompanied by transcendent ethnic vocals. Meanwhile, “Mama Quilla” encompasses inspiriting lyrics and a heavy assortment of drums. Another standout is “Here It Comes” with Emma Lucia and Red Giant Project. This track makes the audience feel as if they are floating down a river in the middle of the jungle. Closing out the EP is “Soulality”, a spellbinding deep house-focused collab featuring Nectar de Estrellas.
Sharing his perspective on Contrast, BOSA says, “it is more defined by the vibe it creates than any particular language or cultural background. I wanted to explore themes of cultural identity and highlight the unique, global sound that sets BOSA apart, and celebrate the very cultures that inspire me.” Even though Contrast is born through BOSA’s inspirations, the EP itself inspires up-and-coming artists to break the borders of sound and genre while finding their true identity.
