Ian Snow Unleashes “The Avalanche” Mix Series: A Wave of Unstoppable Energy

Chicago-based electronic artist Ian Snow is making waves this year with the launch of his new mix series, The Avalanche. After years of refining his sound and vision, Snow is ready to give fans a deeper look into his world—one defined by high-energy bass, melodic interludes, and immersive sonic storytelling.

The Avalanche EP 01 marks his first of the official mix series and is a direct representation of what fans can expect to hear on stage. “This mix was actually created mostly by piecing together elements from my live sets over the past couple of years,” he reveals. “If you like what you hear in this mix, you’ll love the live sets.” Packed with exclusives, The Avalanche features vocal edits of his tracks “Hyper Sequence,” “Higher Dimension,” “One Man Machine,” and “Above The Clouds,” along with remixes of Ravenscoon’s “Falling Up,” The Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up,” and FC Kahuna’s “Hayling.” Snow has also included three unreleased IDs, each featuring exclusive vocal edits, making this mix the only place to hear these unique versions.

“This mix series has been in the works for a while, and it’s long overdue,” Snow explains. “The last mix I put out was as a guest on Ravenscoon Radio over two years ago, and since then, I’ve been evolving the sound and building a vision for something uniquely mine.” Now, he’s kicking things off with a mix that embodies his signature intensity, describing it as “heavy, high-energy, and a statement of what’s to come.”

Snow is known for crafting sets that take listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions, and The Avalanche is no exception. “I always aim to balance intense highs with melodic interludes to create that perfect sonic journey,” he says. “With The Avalanche, I wanted to capture that dynamic contrast, keeping everyone on their toes while immersing them in waves of energy and emotion.”

The concept behind the mix series is as powerful as its name suggests. “Beyond the branding, The Avalanche represents the immersion I want listeners to experience. Just like an avalanche, the goal is to completely consume anyone listening by pulling them into an unstoppable wave of sound.”

What’s Next?

Snow plans to release new episodes of The Avalanche twice a year, with the next installment expected in late summer or early fall. But beyond the mix series, he has big plans for 2025. “Last year threw some unexpected curveballs at the project, right when I was gearing up for takeoff,” he shares. “But if there’s one thing the music industry has taught me, it’s resilience. Now, I’m using the mix as a fresh catalyst to kick off this snowball effect and make 2025 the biggest year yet—more shows, new music, and pushing the sound further than ever before.”

Fans can experience the Avalanche energy live on June 14 at Cervantes in Denver, where he’ll be supporting Buku for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
