pleasureform has officially launched his new music project with the debut track ‘sui generis’. This project is the brainchild of Taylor Lane, formerly one-half of the tech house heavyweights Arnold & Lane. While Lane gained significant industry experience through house music, his creative roots stem from bass music, hip hop, and glitch hop.
Seeking to move beyond the confines of a single genre, Lane returned to the studio with a desire for subby bass, minimal production, and halftime drums. The result is a project focused on presence and sensation over mere performance.
“pleasureform is a signal flow. a form shaped by pressure, release, memory, and sensation. sound designed to be felt before it’s understood. not escape — return. not excess — awareness. not performance — presence.”
The debut single ‘sui generis’ serves as a hard launch for this new artistic direction. The track begins with resampled rasta vocals and a jersey vibe, building the energy of a hard house tune. However, the first drop takes an unpredictable turn, hitting listeners with obscure breaks and a gritty dubstep synth.
The entire track is a journey that avoids feeling overproduced, making it a prime candidate for festival dance floors this season. This debut offers a hopeful glimpse into the future of pleasureform, with more releases expected later this year.
