Elon Musk's Boring Company teases 'tunnel rave' in celebration of Las Vegas Loop completion

Elon Musk‘s Boring Company is nearing completion on the Las Vegas Loop—a new project that would connect the Las Vegas Convention Center, McCarran International Airport, Allegiant Stadium, and a host of casinos on the strip by a system of underground tunnels. The tunnels would shuttle travelers to these various destinations with high-speed autonomous Tesla vehicles. Marking the Convention Center’s passenger terminal’s completion, the team celebrated with Avicii‘s “Levels,” and a matching light show to boot.

Musk might even be open to the pretense of being the future’s foremost rave promoter too, on top of his various other credentials. Earlier this year, when the tech maverick teased a 3D rendering of Berlin’s new Tesla Gigafactory, a Twitter user asked about seeing, “the rave cave rendering,” to which Musk responded, “Might be an indoor/outdoor rave space on the roof.”

Once it debuts, the forthcoming Las Vegas Loop project aims to move 1,200 passengers per hour. The Loop’s scheduled opening was originally slated for January 2021, though plans have been delayed due to COVID-19.
